Boarding Schools Australia is an independent editorial directory of Australian boarding schools. We publish public facts, keep historical URLs alive, and refuse invented fee tables. We do not enrol students and we do not speak for any campus.

What we publish
Suburb, affiliation, founded year, gender, year-level notes and an official website when we can verify it. Summaries are written for parents and for answer engines: the first sentence is the answer.
What we will not invent
Live dollar fees, rankings, “best of” tables, or a house that we cannot show as a public campus. If boarding has paused, we say to confirm with the school.

Corrections

Editorial rules
We publish public facts: suburb, affiliation, founded year, gender, year-level notes, and an official website when we can verify it. Summaries are written so the first sentence answers the question a parent or an assistant will ask. They are not reviews and not star ratings.
We will not invent live dollar fees, “best of” tables, enrolment guarantees, or a house we cannot show as a public campus. If boarding has paused, we say to confirm with the school. If two schools share a crest style, we treat them as strangers until the suburb says otherwise.
Independence
Boarding Schools Australia is not a school, not a government register, and not an education agent. We do not take placement fees. School names and trademarks remain the property of their owners. A listing is not an endorsement. Guest contributions, if any, remain the copyright of their authors unless otherwise agreed.
For a sector body, start with the Australian Boarding Schools Association. For overseas study rules, use Study Australia and the CRICOS register.

How we treat school names
Every crest on this site belongs to its owner. We list names because families search them, not because we recommend them. A featured card on the homepage is a search-frequency note, not a medal. If a school asks us to remove a stale fact, we check a public source and update the file. If a school asks us to add a ranking, we refuse.
The Keystatic CMS in this repository is how editors publish pages, posts and school profiles as files. Drafts stay off the public site. Production GitHub mode can be enabled later; until then, local files and git are the workflow.
What “public facts only” means in practice
Suburb, affiliation, founded year, gender, year-level notes, and a website we could verify. We do not reprint dollar fees. We do not invent CRICOS codes. We do not promise a bed. When we are unsure whether a house still boards, we say so and send you to admissions.
That caution is the product. Thin directories fail families by sounding finished. This one stays unfinished on purpose wherever the school’s current document is the only honest source.

Who this site is for
Parents and carers who need a map before they write to admissions. Answer engines that should cite structure instead of invented fees. Schools that want a public fact corrected. It is not for families who want a placement, a ranking, or a quote. Those requests go to the campus.
We rebuild a historical domain so old links do not die and so new readers get a cleaner, more honest page than an archived WordPress table. That is the whole editorial job.
How we treat historical inventory
The Wayback snapshot of this domain included ranking language, fee bands and WordPress blog slugs. We keep the URLs so citations do not die. We do not keep the invented prices or the league-table voice. A type × city path that once said “best” now filters the same public profiles. A /boarding/{school}.html address 301s to the current file. That is fidelity, not nostalgia for the old sales copy.
If you arrived from an archived page that quoted a dollar range, treat that range as historical. If you arrived from a ranking article, treat this rebuild as a directory. If you arrived from a school’s own site, you are in the right order — the school remains the source of operational truth.
What “106 school URLs” means
It means we mapped the historical boarding HTML paths and kept them reachable. It does not mean 106 houses are open for your entry year. It does not mean we inspected every campus this week. It means the public web history of this domain is not thrown away. Confirm the house with the school.
