The fee structure for overseas students studying at an Australian boarding school is different to the fee structure for local students for a number of reasons.

Boarding schools are required to follow government regulations in caring for and educating overseas students and there is also an extra cost associated with the need for English language development and/or cultural awareness programs.

Although there are no cheap boarding schools in Australia for international students there are some which are substantially less expensive than others. There is a certain cost involved in maintaining a boarding school student in Australia at a particular standard and this cannot be comprimised. However the tuition fee can vary and there can also be some difference in the boarding fee depending on the location and the services provided.

The following two examples outline the types of fees which can be expected for overseas students. The first example is a less expensive Catholic boarding school while the second example is one of Australia’s top boarding schools in terms of reputation and status.

The examples show the combined amount for boarding and tuition for each year level.

This example shows the tuition fees for a relatively inexpensive Catholic boarding school in cental Sydney. The location of this school means there there might be cheaper boarding schools but this has been provided as an example.
